Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

food is absolutely TERRIBLE, in a good way at least. They come here on time, its the only chinese delivery place. The food needs more salt, more seasoning, more soysauce maybe and definitely less oil.

If you are here on a night when a slovenly dude is working bar, turn around and walk out. He is a world class douche- bag.

I had the General Tso chicken dinner with fried rice and a vegetable egg roll. The General Tso's was not too sweet, but not spicy at all. The egg roll was bland, but not too bad, however the friend rice was horrible. It was rice with peas, carrots, and maybe a dash of soy sauce and oil. It tasted greasy and did not even have egg in it. How do you operate a "asian" restaurant and are not able to prepare fried rice correctly?

Okay for this place to be on a military installation.... I was really impressed! The decor would rival any Japanese Steak House. Lovely oriental music of different varieties and perfect lighting. I went for lunch and the service was not only fast but friendly. Now the food..... So Favorful, hot, and fresh! I ordered the General Tso Chicken. It came with a choice of soup, rice, and egg roll or wonton. Best meal under $10 on the installation. Taste like the Chinatown NY food I am use too. Better than P.F. Changs... Seriously.

This is the first time I've been to a base which has a Chinese restaurant. The food is pretty good but depending on what chef is working, the visual display can be appealing or unappealing. They are also willing to modify the food greatly to the customers own specific needs. Waiter service there is really nice and are always there to help ps I have yet to find a rude waiter. The bathroom is also very nice and overall the restaurant is also ps not so sure about the kitchen haha. The music in the restaurant is nice too but wished it played more Chinese styled music but it seems to be more of a American Chinese Korean Restaurant because they do have Korean dishes like Bulgogi . Alright here goes some negatives. Beware of going during summer time because of the mass individuals that eat there during that time especially the numerous amounts of ROTC cadets. This usually causes the wait time to get a waiter, drinks, and food for you to be RATHER VERYYYY LONG. They also tend to run out of certain foods and drinks many times due to it being a small restaurant so beware! Overall a great restaurant with moderate tasting food and a friendly staff that will work with you.

I ordered from this place on a Sunday evening for dinner. Although I wish they made it possible to order online, they were all right for the most part. It's either a three-star or four-star experience, but I'm just going to go with four stars because there's nothing else of the sort around for miles, and I may very well have to order from them again in the future. Ordering by phone was fairly simple, although there is a menu posted online so I don't know why they could have just let the whole ordering process be online. They said it would be a 45- to 55-minute wait, but they arrived within about 40 minutes. Everything went smoothly and service was friendly, so no complaints there. The food is Americanized Chinese, obviously. Nothing like a military base to serve this kind of food. It's rather generic, but overall not bad. I got a beef with broccoli drenched heavily in brown sauce plus fried rice on the side for $10.99. I also got six pan-fried pork dumplings for $5.99, and those were actually pretty good. The total for that after tax and delivery somehow came to $19.50. Considering how convenient they made things for me, I would not say it was unreasonable. Maybe I'll visit the store to try their lunch buffet when I get the chance.

If you order take out, they will tell you it will be 45 mins. Fact is, expect 2 hours and very cold food.

Chinese Fast Food (Mall-Type) served in a wannabe fancy facility. This is NOT Chinese food. Everything is fried. I feel sorry for those of you that think this is real Chinese food. They've gotten my order wrong twice. The server doesn't know the difference between chicken and beef. By the way - use deodorant buddy. Terrible place to eat.

So... My wife and I have heard pretty good things about the place so we decide to check it out after work. It was surprisingly empty so we figured it would be a pretty fast turn around for food especially since we planed on taking out. We paid and then waited at the bar. We ended up waiting for 48 minutes! We were never offered water, an explanation of what was taking so long and most of all an apology for the wait. Another customer was eating to order for nearly 15 minutes without even being greeted. When my order came out I told the bartender that the gentleman hadn't been tended to but she said she would be back and returned to the kitchen. I was so furious by this time that I forgot to request a manager to speak with. We get home and are hoping that the wait was well worth it but again this place failed! We ordered General Tso, Hawaii chicken and combination lo mein with shrimp and chicken. I am not exaggerating when I say EVERYTHING WAS SUB PAR. To me it wasn't general tso. Everything was super salty, the sauce for the Hawaii chicken came on the side and wasn't gross but it wasn't good either. If I had to guess it was just super watered down simple syrup with crushed pineapple and a few pineapple chunks. The meals came with fried rice so how can you mess that up right? Wrong again. That was the only thing that wasn't salty as in no salt/flavor. Maybe it was because my taste buds were already blown out from the salt from everything else but also didn't have egg or vegetables in the fried rice. I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone. There is no excuse for that long of a wait if there were on four customers in the restaurant. Do yourself a favor and order cheap Chinese off base so at least you could get what you pay for.

You WILL have two different expereinces if you order for delivery vs if you eat in. We've ordered delivery a couple of times and the food was just 'eh'. Always luke warm and kinda mushy. Which has always irritated me since we live less then 5 miles from them. However if you have time, go sit down and eat there. The layout hasn't changed from when it was the Italian joint just the decor. Service is amazing, highly recommend sitting in Sahar's section if you get the chance. Very friendly and attentive to your needs. The total price was a tad more then I would have liked, but with a family of 6, including a growing teen; it's almost impossible to get out of anywhere without spending $$$. My husband ordered the Hawaiian Crispy Chicken. It was really good, until it started to get too sweet and soggy. I got the General Tso and really enjoyed this not too overly sweet version. Our teen received the Orange Chicken and it was decent. Nothing to jump around for. And the little kids shared Sweet and Sour Pork, can't go wrong there. My only 2 complaints is 1. if you have children or like to sit and talk while eating; be warned your food will mush up very quickly and the sauces will set in making it too sweet to eat. And secondly, the fried rice was just plain boring, no taste and left much to be desired, although the portion sizes were HUGE. All in all it was a decent experience dinning in vs ordering delivery. Hope to see this place last and do better then the other restaurant it replaced.

Expensive relative to the small portion sizes, not the greatest tasting Chinese food, and slow service. I waited 15 minutes just to be acknowledged to be seated when there were plenty of seats. The General Tso's chicken tasted as if it came from a frozen microwave dinner, and there were just 8-9 small pieces and one small scoop of rice. That Seinfeld adage of "where there's Chinese food there's leftovers," does not apply to this location.

I've eaten here twice for lunch, both buffets. The food was fine, but it was rather pricey, especially since the buffet was probably the smallest one I've ever encountered. (about 3 entrees, rice, noodles). The decor is nice, and there is a lot of seating which would make it ideal for a large group outing, but the buffet selection and price ratio doesn't merit another return.

The good: This as very nice facility with lots o f room to grow. Easily accommodates large groups and an office party/dinner. Even better, the staff is extremely friendly and very attentive to the guests. Food prices were very reasonable - 5 adults had the lunch portion for a total of $45 - that is a steal. No waiting at all, the place is very spacious and we were greeted with a smile and seated right away. The not so good: The restaurant advertises a buffet style lunch on Sundays, but when we arrived, they informed us that they were out of most of the Mongolian Style buffet and thus it was not open. Bummer! We order of the menu and the food was simply ok - a bit bland for my taste. Recommend: try the egg rolls and order a few extras, they are delicious. I will return to give them another attempt to have the Mongolian Grill open and enjoy it.

Extremely friendly servers!! 5 stars to the servers!!! food was GREAT! I would NOT be getting the general tso over the pineapple chicken EVER again. In all honesty, general tso was too sweet, whereas my friend's pineapple chicken was crispy, had a nice spicy kick, and was way more flavorful than general tso chicken. the cashier lady was not as friendly as the servers, and seemed like she just wanted us to pay and leave. Did not feel welcomed. Overall, great interior, great servers, and tasty chinese food (along with korean dishes in the backside of the menu).

When they first opened, it was very good food. Sadly, that is no longer the review I can give.

This is probably the largest and nicest Chinese restaurant I've ever been in so I don't understand how this place sucks so bad when it comes to food. Way over priced

Excellent shrimp egg foo yon, very flavorful. Nice setting just inside Wilson gate.

I gave this place a "3 star" rating simply because it is a decent place to get food from. I've never actually been to the physical restaurant but I have had them deliver food to me (while at work) numerous times; each time it was good. The only thing I didn't like 100% was my second experience... Apparently the delivery guy got lost so he didn't arrive until 1hr 45mins later (ETA was supposed to be 30-45). However, It was the presidential election night so my eyes were glued to the TV & I barely noticed (and called to check-up) until an hour and 30 minutes later anyway. This didn't get to me as much as what the delivery guy told me when I politely asked him, "So, did you get to vote today?!" Can you believe this guy actually said, "Oh... that was today? I thought that was Thursday." Wow! Lol Anyway, That has nothing to do with the quality of service I just thought I'd leave that little tidbit. I would definitely recommend anyone who has a taste for Chinese food to dine here or order delivery, it's not the most authentic tasting Chinese food but it's not bad & the People are polite. I am a creature of habit so I've only had the chicken fried rice & fried chicken - both good. Prices aren't bad either.

We were pretty disappointed here. After a number of disappointing Asian restaurant experiences in the area we were hopeful when we entered. The interior is clean and the decorating is tasteful. Sadly, I can't say the same about the food. Perhaps our mistake was ordering mainly Korean dishes from a place called China Bistro. That said, I was rather surprised when an order of what appeared to be fried rangoon was presented as yaki mandu. The chicken maki maki was actually tasty, but a really small portion. My wife's bulgogi didn't taste like any we've ever had before and my kalbi tasted like grill char. I doubt we'll be back.

I gave them just a 2 star not because of the service (which was pretty good) but because of the lack there of. This was our first time going there and I love to try out new places and this one was no expectation. I called ahead just to see how much the buffet was since it was lunch and usually lunch buffet is cheaper than dinner. The buffet itself was 7.99 for adults and then 1.75 for something to drink. This seemed like a good deal but when we get there I am thinking "what buffet". There was one line of food and it only consist of a handful of items to chose from. This was not like any other buffet that I have been to where there is a lot to chose from and you get what you pay for and don't leave hungry. I believe Mondays must be chicken day cause that seemed to be all they had on the buffet and if spicy (well i won't say that spicy) is your thing then maybe it was for you. You had like 8 things to chose from and that includes your noodles and fried rice. The crab wontons were so stale it was like eating cardboard and you think that at 12pm you would have fresh items on your buffet. You have a salad on the other side that only had 2 dressings on the buffet I think 2 kinds of fruit and one type of sushi oh and some stale looking carrot cake maybe? That was my first and last visit there for the buffet at least. If I just had to have that type of food and it was lunch I would chose to go to a different buffet where I know there is a lot more to chose from.

I really, really want to like this restaurant, especially considering the limited options on Fort Knox. We attempted to try China Bistro last summer, even after we heard some horrible reviews, only to discover that the advertised hours were not the actual hours. Now, 7 months later, we attempted to try it again. For us, it was a Wednesday night at 6:30PM. When we walked in, the hostesses/waitresses seemed confused about where to seat us. We figured things must be busy. However, when we entered the dining room, there were only two other tables occupied (a single guy in a booth and a couple in another booth). Two waitresses were on duty that night. One was handling the other two tables, and ours was only responsible for us. Ours was new, so we cut her some slack, but it was obvious that the other server was not doing anything to train her. When asked about certain items on the menu, our waitress replied with "I've never eaten here." We felt very bad for her, as she appeared very overwhelmed by her job. The other waitress appeared preoccupied with her friend at the bar. We ordered a sampler appetizer (more than $10). It consisted of unseasoned, grilled beef on a skewer, unseasoned and unsauced chicken wings (two small ones), crab rangoon, egg rolls, dumplings, and coconut shrimp. Overall, everything on the sampler platter appeared to have been bought at Sam's Club. I had sesame chicken for $9.99. It was about the same quality as you'd find at your average china buffet. Same goes for my son's General's chicken. My wife had a tofu plate, which was surprisingly good. Our two youngest ordered from the kid's menu. One got chicken nuggets and fries which were, predictably, from the freezer. The other ordered chicken fried rice, which appeared to be the best plate of the night. It looked great. Portion sizes were fine for everyone. The three adult meals came with fried rice. The fried rice was very dry and unseasoned. You will do much better with the stuff you find at a local buffet. It pains me to say this about the one hope for evening dining service without leaving the gates, but it just disappointed from top to bottom. It just seems that, if you are going to have a China Bistro, you must meet or exceed the quality of your average buffet or your typical PX Manchu Wok, and Lee's China Bistro misses the mark completely. Maybe Gordon Ramsey will bring Kitchen Nightmares to Knox and relaunch this place. Let's hope for that. Until then, keep driving until you reach the PX and grab a sandwich at Charlie's.

This place is ok. Defiantly not the best or even the decent category. Food is overly priced, service was slow the MWR should have kept this place an Italian Place.

My husband and I ordered take out from China Bistro. I ordered the chicken and broccoli, with a side of hot and sour soup, and my husband ordered their bourbon chicken. The restaurant decor is upscale, provides lots of seating (we noticed it while waiting on our to go order), and appeared really clean. The staff took our order quickly, was pleasant, and the food came out hot and fast. We were very impressed, until we started eating. My chicken and broccoli came out with a thin sauce that was similar in color to chicken noodle soup. When I picked up a piece of broccoli or chicken, none of the sauce adhered to it. It was like eating a side of plain white meat chicken, with a side of crunchy broccoli. The chicken and broccoli had a fair amount of bamboo shoots in it, a hand full of mushrooms, and several carrot slivers. The taste and amount given for take out was well below average as compared to the price. Flavor was barely there. It was almost like eating a salad (for a flavor comparison). Chinese cooking (that I've had anyway), always has a flavorful sauce and spice. This dish had nothing but the taste of the chicken, salt, and broccoli. The hot and sour soup was another matter however. The soup was really spicy, had a few chicken pieces in it, red pepper flakes, more tofu in it than chicken, and more taste than the chicken and broccoli, although it was still below average. My husband's bourbon chicken came out light brown in color. My husband said specifically that he had tasted better chicken and broccoli, but that the fried rice it came with was "scrumptious." His only complaint about the rice was that they didn't give him enough to eat with the bourbon chicken. He said, "the container they packaged the rice in is so small, they almost made me think they were mad at us." He has a healthy sense of humor, but back to my review. This restaurant is located on the military installation, which is why we went there for a quick lunch. We both agreed that if it weren't for that fact, and if we had known about the quality and amount (lack) of food they serve before going, we wouldn't have bothered. If we find ourselves at Fort Knox again, we will not be visiting. Even though my husband liked the rice, the decor is beautiful, the food came out hot and timely, and I thought the soup was fair, we felt like eating here was not an over all good value for our money. I guess we've been spoiled by the flavorful Chinese they serve in bigger cities.
